The consultation is free. You're only charged if a prescriber approves your treatment, so you pay nothing if you're not suitable. There's no subscription, no plan and no lock-in. You simply reorder when you need your next pen or pack.

ZAVA#

We haven't been able to confirm ZAVA's current payment terms for this comparison. That includes when you're charged and whether any first-month offer applies. Rather than guess, we've left those points out and used ZAVA's standard listed prices.

Whichever pharmacy you look at, compare 2 numbers: the first-month price and the price from month 2 onwards. A low opening price can look very different once the standard price kicks in.

ZAVA Mounjaro price#

ZAVA's standard Mounjaro prices run from £148.97 for 2.5mg up to £298.97 for 15mg. Totiva's run from £136.88 to £268.88 across the same strengths.

Most people start on 2.5mg and move up in steps if they tolerate it. So the starting price matters less than the full table. If you reach 10mg, for example, the standard gap is £46.09 per pen.

Which is cheaper, Totiva or ZAVA?#

Based on the tables above, Totiva is cheaper at 20 of 22 strengths compared. ZAVA is lower at 2: the Wegovy 0.25mg pen (by £3.91) and the Wegovy 1.5mg tablets (by £10.03).

Does ZAVA use a subscription?#

We couldn't confirm ZAVA's current subscription terms, so we haven't described them here. Totiva doesn't use a subscription at all. You order each time you need treatment.

Neither approach is right or wrong. A subscription can suit people who like automatic deliveries. Ordering as you go can suit people who want more control over timing and cost.

Support and service#

Totiva passed its most recent GPhC inspection. We haven't been able to confirm ZAVA's latest inspection result, but you can look it up on the GPhC inspection reports site in a couple of minutes.

Reading reviews of online pharmacies#

We haven't quoted review scores for either pharmacy because ratings move all the time. If you're reading ZAVA reviews or Totiva reviews, a few habits help:

Checking any online pharmacy in the UK#

Weight loss injections are prescription-only medicines. That means a prescriber must assess you first. Before you order anywhere:

• Check the pharmacy is on the GPhC register.
• Read its latest inspection report.
• Avoid any site that sells these medicines without a proper consultation.
• Avoid social media sellers and unlicensed "weight loss pens". The MHRA has warned these can be fake or unsafe.

A consultation doesn't guarantee a prescription. A prescriber decides based on your health. Sometimes the right answer is a different treatment, or no medicine at all. Totiva treats adults aged 18 to 74.

When to speak to a clinician#

Talk to a clinician before starting if any of these apply:

• You're pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You've had pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), gallbladder problems or an eating disorder.
• You have diabetes and take insulin or other medicines that lower blood sugar.
• You take the contraceptive pill. Mounjaro can make oral contraceptive pills less effective. The MHRA advises using an extra barrier method, like condoms, for 4 weeks after starting and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.

Get help quickly if you have severe stomach pain that doesn't go away, especially if it spreads to your back. Do the same if ongoing vomiting or diarrhoea leaves you dehydrated. Call NHS 111 or, if it's severe, go to A&E.
