How the pricing works at each pharmacy#

Totiva#

The consultation is free. A UK clinician reviews your answers, and you only pay if your treatment is approved. If it isn't, you pay nothing.

There's no subscription. You don't sign up to repeat deliveries, and there's no cheap first order that jumps in price later. You simply reorder when you need more, at the same standard price. You can see every medicine and pack on our ED page.

Superdrug#

The Superdrug prices in the tables above are standard pack prices. They leave out any first-order discount or promotion. There's no consultation fee at Superdrug, and it isn't a subscription service. Payment is taken upfront, rather than only if your treatment is approved.

If you see a lower price on any pharmacy's site, look at what it applies to. A one-off welcome offer is not the same as the price you'll pay every time you reorder. Compare the same pack at its standard price.

Which is cheaper, Totiva or Superdrug?#

On the prices we checked, Totiva was cheaper on every compared pack: 25 out of 25. The gap was smallest on branded medicines. It was largest on generic tadalafil and daily tadalafil.

A fair comparison means the same medicine, the same strength and the same number of tablets. Price per tablet also tends to drop as pack size goes up, at both pharmacies. So compare like with like.

Support and service#

Price matters, but so does who answers when you have a question about your treatment.

Is Superdrug legit?#

The simplest way to answer this for any pharmacy is to check for yourself. Every pharmacy in Great Britain must be registered with the GPhC. You can search the GPhC register by name or postcode and see the registration details.

The GPhC also inspects pharmacies and publishes the reports online. Look up the most recent report for any pharmacy you're thinking of using. It shows how well the pharmacy met the standards on the day.

Reading reviews of online pharmacies#

Reviews can help, but only if you read them carefully. When you look at reviews for Superdrug, Totiva or anyone else:

• Focus on recent reviews. A pharmacy's service can change a lot in a year or two.
• Read the negative ones and the replies. How a pharmacy responds to complaints tells you a lot.
• Watch for patterns. One late parcel is bad luck. Dozens of reviews about the same problem is a pattern.
• Separate a pharmacy complaint from a side effect. A headache after sildenafil is a known side effect of the medicine, not a sign of a poor pharmacy.

Who each service may suit#

Superdrug may suit you if:#

• You want to use a regulated UK pharmacy and Superdrug is one you already know.

Which medicine is right for you depends on your health. That's a decision for you and a clinician, not a price table.

Checking any online pharmacy in the UK#

Sildenafil and tadalafil for ED are prescription-only medicines. That means you need a consultation with a prescriber before you can get them. Viagra Connect and Cialis Together are pharmacy medicines. You don't need a prescription, but a pharmacist still checks they're safe for you.

Before you order from any website:

• Search for the pharmacy on the GPhC register.
• Read its latest GPhC inspection report.
• Make sure it won't supply prescription medicine without a consultation.
• Don't buy ED tablets from social media sellers. The MHRA warns that these are often fake or unsafe.

A consultation doesn't guarantee you'll get treatment. A good pharmacy will say no if a medicine isn't safe for you. Totiva's ED consultation is for men aged 18 to 75.

When to speak to a clinician#

Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before using ED treatment if you:

• Take nitrates (often used for angina) or riociguat.
• Get chest pain.
• Have had a stroke or heart attack recently.
• Have ever had an erection that wouldn't go away.
• Notice a sudden change in your vision or hearing.

An erection lasting more than 4 hours needs urgent help. So does chest pain during sex. Go to A&E or call 999.
